Cliches are Pointless Cliches

Cliches are Pointless Cliches

First and foremost, this is a cliche beginning. Starting from scratch is the only real way to start, so here goes nothing. And not to beat a dead horse, but actions speak louder than words. So without further adieu… lights… camera… action!

Cliches are like Rome, because they weren’t built in a day. They’re also like flies on shit, because they both have an L, an I, an E, and an S. Cliches are sometimes lies, but truth is relative, and truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. There’s usually a fine line between truth and lies, but sometimes things aren’t as they seem. You can never judge a book by it’s cover.

You can’t judge a book by it’s cover, but there’s nothing more important than a good first impression. A first impression isn’t small potatoes, especially when we live in such a small world. The world is infinite though. Even with all the time in the world, it’s impossible to get to know the whole world. If you could see the whole world you’d feel like you’re on top of the world, but the world is actually a sphere so everyone is actually on top of the world (unless you’re an earthworm or plankton or something).

Most things in the world are out of sight, out of mind. Even if you give it your all, you still won’t see it all. If your all isn’t enough, then you need to give 110 percent. Or 120 percent (but anything over 100 percent is mathematically impossible). Anyway, absence makes the heart grow fonder. The heart knows what the heart wants. The heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout your body.

Love is blind. Roses are red. Love is like a rose, because neither of them can see (Daredevil is blind. And red). Love sometimes happens at first sight. Love conquers all (except maybe blindness). But if love is really blind and seeing is believing, then love doesn’t exist. (Hey, I didn’t say it. They said it. And you know what they say!) Money can’t buy you love, well, depending on what kind of love you’re talking about...

Follow your heart, and keep body and soul together. Take a walk and do some soul searching. But a hard and fast rule, if the walk is too hard and fast, slow down and take a seat. Once you’re good to go, God willing, go with your gut. If you’re so hungry you could eat a horse, you’re too hungry to eat. The choice will come to you, because things always turn up when you stop looking. Some things are better left unsaid.

Things aren’t what they used to be. Cliches used to be one brick short of a load. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Cliches are one card shy of a full deck. Cliches are good rules of thumb (but rules of thumb are too rigid, kind of like thumbs). I’ll go out on a limb and say that cliches are the devil. Speak of the devil. Hear no evil, see no evil (This must be telling you to close your eyes and ears to avoid any more cliches!). You might be better off dead.

All good things must come to an end. All’s well that ends well, so I guess this better end well.

Well, it appears the well’s run dry...
